OUR FARMS

Not Just Sustainable – Regenerative

Kodiak, Alaska

Our seaweed farms in Kodiak, Alaska, and Baja California embody our commitment to regenerative practices. In Kodiak, we collaborate with the Su’naq Tribe and their company, Wildsource Kodiak, which has been our partner for five years, producing the highest quality kelp ingredients in the hemisphere. We also work with Alaska Native tribes across south-central and southeast Alaska.

In partnership with our original farm partner, Kodiak Island Sustainable Seaweed, we pioneered the first commercial seaweed farming supply chain in Alaska’s history. Similarly, we established the first commercial farmed seaweed supply chain in Mexico.

Our Kodiak farms serve as nurseries for marine organisms, de-acidifying the surrounding seawater and creating a protective halo effect that benefits shellfish. Located on a fully renewable electricity grid, our operations are designed for zero Phase I emissions, meeting the growing demand for ingredients with minimal greenhouse gas footprints.

Baja, California

In Baja California, our onshore Sea Lettuce farm uses only seawater, which is crucial for an agricultural region facing prolonged drought. The seawater we return to the ocean is cleaner than before, and our farm is certified organic. Sea lettuce thrives in this sunny region, and our team, trained alongside local experts and students, is proud to operate our own dynamic farm.

We are now staging over 100,000 acres of new seaweed farming space across the globe, expanding our geographical reach and diversifying our crop species and strain portfolio within Alaska and Mexico. New partner projects are underway in Europe, the South Pacific, and Asia, further advancing our mission to create a regenerative future.

By integrating sustainable practices, our farms not only supply high-quality seaweed but also support environmental health and local economies, reinforcing our commitment to innovation and sustainability.
